Kenya's snakes: see them at Bio-ken Snake Farm

  • 29 December 2014

Bio-Ken Snake Farm in Watamu has been educating visitors and locals about reptiles for more many years, providing excellent experiences as well as anti-venom for those unfortunate enough to be bitten by snakes.

Species housed at Bio-Ken Snake Farm include pythons, mambas, cobras, tree snakes and non-venomous species such as mole snakes, which can be handled by visitors.

The establishment has received some excellent reviews on travel sites such as TripAdvisor. On November 20 cleoc, of Geneva in Switzerland, wrote: "As well as displaying the many snakes of the region (including some of the world's most poisonous) this snake farm does valuable conservation and education work and also 'milks' snakes' venom for the manufacture of antidotes. The guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic."
